The 38th Swaledale Marathon was on Saturday 10th June 2017. 446 participants completed the route. The weather conditions were probably the worst in most memories with rain for most of the day, heavy at times and a strong wind on the tops. The exposure was considerable and a few competitors suffered difficulties, fortunately none seriously. The section from Great Punchard Head to Level House was particularly wet, boggy and challenging. Congratulations to all finishers, especially to Ray Stevenson on his 38th marathon. The prize winners were as follows.
