Information

Car Parking: Car parking is available on the left just after crossing Grinton Bridge (if coming from Richmond) at SE046986. This will be indicated by signs and by the stewards. There is no charge for car parking. Please note that we have been asked not to permit competitors to park in Reeth. Your assistance in this matter may be crucial to the continuation of this event. A free shuttle bus will operate in both directions between Reeth and the car park from 1pm.

Registration: Registration will be at Fremington Sunday School (SE043990) between 0800 and 0900. This is 700m from the car park via a footpath through fields.

Start: 0930.
The start (SE044990) will be from a field on the opposite side of the road to registration (signposted).

Refreshments: A free meal will be available for entrants at the finish at Reeth Village Hall. Drinks will be available at Checkpoint 1 (Stang Bridge), Checkpoint 2 (Low Faggergill) and Checkpoint 6 (Surrender Bridge) – you may also wish to carry your own drink. Food and drinks will be available at Checkpoint 4 (Level House), Checkpoint 5 (Gunnerside) and Reeth at the finish.

Souvenirs and Awards: A certificate and a pottery souvenir will be awarded to all who finish within 10 hours. A marathon T-shirt can be purchased on the day.

A dated cloth badge will be available on the day for all finishers. A special silver coloured badge will be awarded to all completing their 5th Swaledale Marathon and a gold coloured badge to all completing their 10th Marathon.

Prizes, in the form of items of local pottery, will be awarded to the first three men and first three ladies, the first men's team and the first ladies' team (team trophies will be awarded according to club entered – 4 to count).

Trophies: There are 10 trophies for Fastest Man, Fastest Lady, Fastest Veteran Man (50+), Fastest Veteran Lady (40+), Fastest SOC Man, Fastest SOC Lady, Fastest over 60 Man, Fastest over 60 Lady, Men's Team Trophy and Ladies' Team Trophy.

The income from the Marathon after deducting all associated costs will be used to support the running of the Swaledale Outdoor Club (a non-profit making body).
