The Swale Way

Posted by Swaledale Outdoor Club on 2013-05-26

The Swale Way is a long distance walk from the mouth of the Swale near Boroughbridge to its source above Keld with an optional extension to Kirkby Stephen. A new website has been set up with descriptions, maps and information about the route: see www.swaleway.org.uk

The walk was originally devised by John Brock, formerly of Richmond Ramblers. The Walkers are Welcome towns of Richmond (co-ordinated by Richard Wright on behalf of SOC) and Boroughbridge have worked together, in consultation with John, to relaunch this walk. North Yorkshire County Council have agreed to waymark it.

The walk will help to cement Richmond as a walking centre.
