“Team Bob” did it; all 360 miles of it from Richmond Surrey to Richmond North Yorkshire in aid of the bell restoration appeal at St. Mary’s. On behalf of the bell ringers we would like to thank members of the SOC who played a crucial role in making it possible; to James Gravenor. the “Logistics King”, who navigated the full route and led the way; to Leigh Gravenor who ensured that the route through central London did not bring a premature end to the whole project; to Barbara Gravenor who cheerfully reeled in the slower riders; to Ron “I can fix anything” Kassel and Pat “Queen of Cakes” Kassel who constituted our road crew, provided bike transport and Pat’s cafe in the shape of their motor home, and who smoothed the long and winding road; to Peter Trewby for his boundless enthusiasm and “rise and shine” approach to the day; to Yvonne Armitage who imported her usual good spirits and inimitable humour; to Janet "Ace Ringer" Wadsworth who rallied around our cause from the very outset and helped us on our way. “Team Bob” consisted of “Bob” the tandem powered along by Glenys Rogers and Glenys Jones. They turned a mad idea into reality on the back of relentless training and the magnificent support provided by SOC members. We are delighted to report that the team’s efforts generated over £10,000 towards our appeal. A big “THANK YOU” to everyone in the club who supported us in so many ways. We got over the line  in every respect.
