Richmond, North Yorkshire, is situated at the heart of some wonderful walking countryside. Swaledale, described by Alfred Wainwright as his favourite, Wensleydale, Teesdale, Wharfedale and the western part of the North Yorks Moors is where we regularly walk; though we do occasionally venture further afield. Walks are programmed for Sundays and Thursdays; they vary in length from 7 to 12 miles and are graded “easy” or “moderate” – very occasionally “more challenging”. Club members take turns in planning and leading walks and car-share to rendezvous as far as possible. We use the walkers mailing list to organise our trips.
