Silton Crag

Silton Crag

One of my local crags so after 40 plus years climbing I thought I should pay it a visit.
Four of us arrived at the parking John, Paul, Gareth and me, luckily Paul had been recently and directed straight to the crag, as the grid reference is wrong in all the guidebooks.
The crag has a reputation for being green but recent tree felling has let much more sun onto the crag and the rock was fairly clean but a bit dusty. However there is loose rock potential!
We only had time for two routes I led Simple HS a good route with some extra spice due to some flakey holds.
Gareth led Birds Nest VD , a bit of an adventure spiced up with a loose block in the middle.
A few more low grade routes worth climbing an a couple of decent top ropes (for me) so worth another visit!
