Barnard Castle to Cotherstone on the Teesdale Way

Barnard Castle to Cotherstone on the Teesdale Way

Six of us set off on a slightly less sweltering Sunday morning than it had been the day before for a pretty gentle 7 miler up the Tees to Cotherstone and back with me, Supreme Leader for the day, keeping a wary eye out for the approaching thunderstorm......There were no steep and unrelenting climbs on this walk, all the stiles were in good repair and the livestock were disinterested in our presence. Even the feared Belted Galloways seemed benignly bovine in the warm September sunshine. Lunch was taken on the charming village green in Cotherstone taking in the genteel ambience of the scene. By the time we we were approaching Barny the Wagnerian clouds were gathering but fortunately the heavens did not open until we were all safely home again. Thank you Caroline, Jennifer, Gary, Patrick and new recruit Adam for accompanying me on this delightful stroll where we did not get electrocuted! Always a good outcome!
