Masham Circular 8 June 2017

It could have been the miserable forecast – or perhaps people having a lie in to be fresh for results night on the General Election – but we had a modest turn out of 4 on this one.

An unnecessarily early arrival In Masham from the Northallerton contingent meant we were able to partake of the early morning fayre at the Bordar Cafe – and the Bacon Sandwich in particular was given a thumbs up by Paul.

As anticipated we started in the rain and it remained dampish for much of the day.  Mind you the forecast period of heavy rain at around 1pm became the herald for a nice burst of sunshine.

There were plenty of orchids to be seen on Marfield Reserve before we set of cross country towards Fearby on field paths and green lanes.

Our return route brought us pack along pleasant paths next to the River Burn and then the River Ure.

Various people after the date said they were sorry to have missed this one – so I will probably put in as a repeat in the autumn programme – with an optional early start for the bacon butty brigade!
