Askrigg Round 4 July 2019
4 July 2019
Ten of us set off at 10am on a fine sunny morning from Askrigg Church. Through a meadow and some lovely woodland we visited Mill Gill Waterfall before proceeding up and onto Low Straights Lane. Pausing for coffee at Frank’s Seat, with a spectacular view toward Addlebrough, we continued up and along. After a short diversion to view the chapel at Heugh, built by artist Piers Browne in memory of his wife, we enjoyed lunch by a very lovely waterfall before walking down to Woodhall, then along the old rail line and Askrigg Bottoms by the river. A perfect raspberry scone at Humble Pie completed a most enjoyable walk; thank you all for your company.
