Family Ceilidh - October 2011
A good gathering of families (about 12) joined us once again for our family ceilidh held at Cleasby Village Hall near Darlington. The buffet was even bigger and better than the previous year.
Tony set the evening off with a few games for the children with monetary prizes. We then ate supper and had about an hour's dancing after supper. There were some younger families there this time (including a baby) and the children needed more support to dance, so we kept noticing gaps in the formations as dad and child danced as one, almost.
Time always run away so quickly and before we knew it it was time to finish, so we have decided to extend the length of next year's event already! We'll have a 2 hour event next time.
Thanks go to Tony for his brilliant job steering us through the dances whilst playing a range of instruments and singing too. Thanks go to all organisers and tidier uppers.
We will hold next year's event on Saturday 13th October with Tony so put it in your diaries now, but does anyone know a different hall... so we move around closer to different members. Please let me know.
