Waskerley Way - done!

Due to availability of folk, we moved this year’s pilgrimage to Saturday instead of Sunday. Meeting Steven and I at the Derwent Walk visitor Centre were Mark and Andy; unfortunately 2 flat tyres prevented Yvette from joining us. Neil arranged to meet us at Consett so off we set at quite a lick. I have to admit that although it was pretty tough due to the pace, it was really quite ok as there was very little wind and no rain. The mist did descend on us as we headed out of Consett but the low cloud cleared as we arrived at Parkhead café. Mark had a full head of steam on and was first to arrive and I brought up the rear. We were well looked after as ever with the broth and dumplings proving very popular followed by some very good sticky buns; it is all about the food after all. The journey back was at a fast pace with Mark and Andy leading the charge, Neil peeled off and Steven and I arrived a few minutes later with me winning the award for getting the muddiest – no idea where I had been……
