Highcliffe Nab and the Hanging Stone
Five bikers on a variety of two wheeled apparatus set off from the Fountains Lane car park in Guisborough heading up Butts Lane and into the woods. Trails were remarkably dry for the time of year and good progress was made up hill. As we approached Highcliffe Nab it was clear the wind was a factor but no rain so far. A ride across the Moor on flagstones and into the woods again for a lunch break on the top of the Hanging Stone - great views out to sea but the weather looked like closing in. A bit more urgency was required and as we tried to make a dash across moorland to Little Rosebery we got caught in a squally shower. A bit of excitement on the descent back into the woods and a fast and furious pedal on good wide trails back to the car park. Excellent toilet facilities provided a warm and dry changing room. All in all a pretty damn good day out.
