Avoid the badger holes!
Russ, Richard, Mark G, Alan and I turned up for our easy going ride from Aysgarth, a good turnout for a Saturday ride. The trails were dry and running fast as we set off on the old track to Redmire, a quick stop on Castle Bolton green to do a bit of bike fettling and then we headed up the road and into Apedale Foot. Lunch in the shooting lodge (that sounds quite posh) and then up to the start of the Badger Run down into Castle Bolton. This was as dry as I have ever seen it and we had a fast descent back down, avoiding the badger holes, before taking the bridleway along the side of the hill to the old quarry. One last whizz down and then back to Aysgarth Falls cafe. Unusually they hadn't almost run out of cake, most of us had Victoria sponge while Alan plumped for chocolate cake. A very pleasant day out; no great excitements but much satisfaction. Thanks all for playing.
