November Rides in the Rain

Posted by James Gravenor on 2015-12-01

Although it's been a rather wet November we have still managed to get out on a few rides.

We changed the planned ride on Sunday 8th Novemnber and started at Richmond instead of Kirkby Stephen. Barbara, Leigh and I cycled to Sam Turners at Piercebridge where we met Melanie and Jonnie. The five of us did a ride through Langton and Winston before going our separate ways back to Darlington and Richmond. A wet (but not as wet as forecast) but never-the-less enjoyable ride.

On Wednesday 11th November seven of us cycled from Richmond via Downholme, Halfpenny House and Grinton Moor to the Bike Cntre at Fremington. The rain came down whilst we were having lunch and the party divided with four of us returning to Richmond via the hilly back road through Marske whilst the rest took the main road with Jenny cycling back to Hackforth.

The third ride I led in November went from Masham to Hampsthwaite on Sunday 22nd. For this ride I was only joined by Berni and Jenny. We kept up a good pace and covered 42 miles talking in the excellent lunch stop at Sophie's tea room in Hampsthwaite.

You can still enjoy cycling in the rain - honest!
