Hutton Rudby to Kildale with extras

Posted by Peter Bennison on 2016-06-22

A lovely ride from Hutton Rudby (HR) - actually started an hour earlier at Brompton for eight of us (John & Judith, Jenny, Yvonne, Mike & Liz and Pauline & myself) and when we pulled into HR an hour later 2 members (Mark & Colin)
and a very welcome non-member (Pete) joined us for the undulating ride to Kildale.
Conditions were perfect with no rain and it turned out to be a warm day.
The roads around HR, Newby and Gt Ayton were perfect and we passed many riders enjoying the dry conditions. A good speed was held by all and we averaged just over our predicted C pace!

A very welcome lunch awaited us at Glebe Cottage and you can see photos of some of the cakes  - we did not eat! (HONEST)
We were joined by Peter at lunch and he rode back with us -three Peters on one ride can be confusing!

The ride back to Bromtpon via Hutton Rudby was an easy mainly downhill ride with wonderful scenery of the Cleveland Hills on our left hand side and an unauthorised stop at Roots for a cake and coffee rounded off the afternoon!

In total a ride of 53 miles back to Brompton depending on which Garmin you owned????

Thanks to all the riders in the above photograph for making it a really nice ride!
