The intended programme was for Andy's meet to be in the Lakes. However inclement weather in the North West forced a change of plan to head south. We were 2 climbers arriving at Wharncliffe just before 10.00am.
For once female climbers out numbered the males as apart from Andy and I the only climbers around were a group of women under instruction. We headed to Great Buttress and once there Andy lead the 2 star route Beta Crack. I then lead Romulus. It would have been rude not to climb Remus so Andy lead the latter. Nearby was Great Chimney Crack whick I enjoyed leading. The highlight of the day was Tower Face a top 50 which was a good lead for Andy. Lastly we moved back down the crag to do Puttrell's Progress but rain stopped play so we had to save that route for another day. It was 3.30pm and we had done well to avoid the rain until this time so we had drinks in Lowood Working Men's Club before heading home.
