Twistleton 15th July
Posted by Swaledale Outdoor Club on 2012-08-03
The first good weather forecast for a while saw a large group of climbers eager for sun kissed rock. For the first time in ages two full cars headed west into the sun destination Twistleton. Some of the classic routes are now are extremely polished now maybe a grade harder than the guide book grade( or so I tell myself ) Candle Crack proving the most awkward, Harry succeeding and dragging up Sandra, Paul succumbing to the polish(well caught by Fin) me giving up without much of a fight.
Routes climbed included Sickle Direct VS 5A, Mark lead,Prest On Up E1 5B, Mark and Calum lead, Priority S. Direct HVS 5A, Mark lead, Curving Crack VS 5A, Mark and Calum lead, Evening Star S, Dave and Phil lead L.H.Crack V.D. Dave lead Power Cut V.D. Bay Wall D. John lead, Candle Crack VS 5A Harry lead.
By five o`clock the oldies were tiring and started heading for the pub leaving Ruairidh and Calum muttering about the lack of commitment in the older generation!
