Most SOC trips are planned in advance through the quarterly programme, in which one person acts as organiser for each trip. He or she acts as a contact point and coordinator, and may change the venue if the weather conditions are unsuitable for the originally planned trip.

Sometimes trips have to be planned further in advance (to arrange transport, accommodation, etc.)

The links on the left show the current programme and any trips being planned further ahead.

The Section Organiser of the Orienteering Section is currently adopting a role of “point of contact” for the activity of the Section rather than attempting to actively lead or offer a full or regular programme of events.

So please be aware that:

-       The above programme for Orienteering is intended as a sample of available events or activities and these may not be actively “led” by an SOC member. They are mainly events organised by large local clubs like CLOK, EBOR, CLARO and NN in our area.

-       the Section Organiser will happily advise by email or phone on any aspect of events, equipment, specialist knowledge etc but will not necessarily be on hand to accompany or supervise SOC members new to the activity.

Please view the Orienteering Homepage for more information.
