Members' programme currently showing contact details "Only available to Members / Guests", even though I'm logged in. I note that I haven't had the Monday 1 a.m. weekly email from the programme, either. Something broken ?

Hi Paul,
Photo compewtition, your slide show is too quick for my snail like broadband, I only get half a picture and it moves on. Not a problem just thought I'd mention it.
Oh and videos links to some video storage site?? Is that supposed to happen?

I think the upgrade by the hosting service has broken the members' programme. Choosing a section and a month, then clicking "go" just drops back to the base page, with no programme displayed. At least, using Chromium on Linux (Kubuntu maverick, Chromium from PPA 7.0.541.0 (61160)).

I think the modified date works better, so I've changed canoeing to that.

Ah, that means that Canoe Section's own change log will nearly always be at the top of the list, which means everyone can look at the entire history of significant changes since the start of this year. Looks a good option to me, thanks, Paul.

I guess if I want articles to appear in the list after I've made a minor typo correction to some article that shouldn't be in the list, I can just edit/save each article to re-time-stamp it.

E-newsletter subscription. Great ! How do I get PDF or ODT ?

html or plain text, but there should be a link to view online and a pdf option from there. I hadn't realised this was showing on the user menu yet as it is very much a work in progress.

Could these be ordered by the "start publishing" date instead

No, the options are created date or modified date. I take the point about minor changes, but I think the modified date works better, so I've changed canoeing to that.

Is there a way (for an end-user) to change the number of articles listed (as you might for the number in a category list view) ?

No, it can only be done from the backend.

The latest updates (on each section homepage) seems to be driven by the page creation date, not by its last modified date, so, for example, the most recently updated article in Canoe Section appears third in the list, whilst four write-ups which have recently been added (but with their creation dates set to get them in the right order in the "past sea trips" list) don't appear at all. This is particularly likely to work badly if outline articles are created (but not published), then modified later and only published when completed. By then, their creation date will mean that they seem too old for the latest updates list.

Could these be ordered by the "start publishing" date instead, since the publishers can change that without admin access (and it's better than the modified date, since that gets updated even for a minor typo correction)

Is there a way (for an end-user) to change the number of articles listed (as you might for the number in a category list view) ?

this seems to be a bit of a security lapse

Ah yes - the dangers of doing things in a hurry. This was a code free solution to the problem. Something much more elegant would be to have the page served to everyone with variable content depending on access level. I guess I'll have to move this up the list.
