Tour of Two DalesShortened VersionBecause I wasn't up to 74 hard miles, I arranged to meet the others in Reeth. I started my ride in Redmire and enjoyed a leisurely climb over Greets Moss in glorious weather and with wonderful views. Only Gary turned up, so we decided to ride up to Muker where we would decide whether or not to continue on to Nateby or shorten the ride and go over The Buttertubs to Hawes. As my face felt as though it couldn't get any redder or hotter and my energy was disappearing fast I suggested the latter. I climbed up the Buttertubs road as slow as possible to reserve sane strength while Gary patiently waited for me at the top. After taking in the views we enjoyed a wonderful descent and then headed to Hardraw for a quality cafe stop. We then cycled along Wensleydale via the back road and enjoyed a lovely tail wind all the way to Redmire. Thanks Gary for my hardest ride of the year. Liz Corner |
