Mowden Meander

It was surprising to find only Roly and myself had turned up at the Mowden for today's cycle ride. Where was everybody? We did however meet Ray and Lil in Aldbrough St John, from where we headed southwards towards Melsonby, and on over the A66, down to Gilling West. This is normally an enjoyable fast descent, but today it was not impressive, due to the biting rain cutting into our cheeks. We were pleased to continue in more moderate weather conditions into Richmond for a quality cafe stop at the bakers.

Sun now shining we were blessed with a beautiful afternoon for our return journey, which took us through Tunstall. Scorton, Middleton St George, Piercebridge etc.
