Five Start Four Return

Paul and Liz led a great ride from Bedale on the 12th April. Five of us set off [John, Tony, Liz, Paul and Melanie] on a beautifully sunny morning and enjoyed really varied scenery - fields, moors, streams and gorges, reservoirs and woodland. Spring was truly in evidence as the first bluebells and violets were spied. The ascents were knac... I mean exhilarating and the descents were very rewarding, with views down the valley towards Pately Bridge.

Alas, after leaving Lofthouse lunch spot, one of us didn't make the turn towards home after Gouthwaite Reservoir. [Just who was at fault here is still under review and I am unable to comment at this time as a court case is pending!] I can only say it was a sad loss but the person in question was seen a week later [still on their bike!!]

Despite this slight hiccup all enjoyed their outing and I have to say it's top on my list of routes thus far.
