Cycling RoadiesWe all met at Nuns Close in the pouring rain and debated whether or not to start - I had put in a £140 car parking fee and that decided it, we had to go now! Left out of the car park and the stormy winds did blow and we Jolly Cyclists went up and up and up...… Tony had to leave us because the tea he had left on the kitchen table was getting cold, only joking, his rear mech had dropped to bits and was completely shot. Five of us carried onward and upward across to Marske and over Marrick Moor to Reeth and a very welcome Cafe stop with a blazing coal fire. We had just ordered when in marched Little Fencote all the way from New Zealand accompanied by Tony whom we introduced to prospective new member Jonathan. We said goodbye to Tony and John and made our way back to Richmond with a tail wind and hazy sunshine. Thanks Tony and Val for an invigorating ride. Mick Loughran |
