'Twas on a Dark and Cold Night…...a small party made an evening foray into the unexplored depths of upper Teesdale. In temperatures of minus 5C and a clear starlit sky they navigated their way to the little known ice climb of White Force. As anticipated, the moon rose as they approached the icefall providing more than adequate light. The route was quickly ascended and the party returned to the car followed by refreshments in the High Force Hotel. Only drawback was the chalk dust in ones throat. Dave Thompson |
